Education & Training
Heidi holds a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Texas at Tyler. She is a National Certified Counselor through the NBCC and practices under the supervision of Daniela Kopec, LPC-S. Experience
Heidi’s clinical experience includes work with individuals, families, and groups across a broad range of ages and backgrounds. She has served as a behavioral health clinician in remote Alaska communities, a school counselor in Unalaska, and an intensive case manager for youth in East Texas. Her work is rooted in values of access, compassion, and connection.
She supports clients facing trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, identity and career exploration, substance use, life transitions, and relational concerns. Her integrative approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness-based practices, and positive psychology. When appropriate, she also incorporates experiential tools like art, play, somatic awareness, and symbolic work.
Counseling Perspective
Heidi views therapy as a co-created space where clients are invited to bring their whole selves—mind, body, spirit, and relationships. She emphasizes collaboration, attunement, and respect for each person’s lived experience, believing that lasting change emerges when clients feel deeply seen and supported.
Grounded in a trauma-informed, person-centered framework, Heidi adapts her work to meet the evolving needs of her clients, recognizing that no two journeys look the same. Her style is warm, relational, and creative. Whether clients arrive with a specific goal or a sense that something needs to shift, she joins them with care and curiosity—holding hope until they’re ready to hold it themselves.
